LETS South Membership Agreement
LETS South is an incorporated non-profit organisation owned and run by the financial Members.
 
It is committed to providing high quality service to Members and encourages trust and friendship through the exchange of skills and resources. It is open to individuals and businesses and reserves the right to refuse or revoke Membership.

  • Members must trade in LETS Barter dollars for their services
  • Members must agree to abide by the Ethics, Principles and Values of LETS South
  • If ceasing membership it is an obligation and responsibility to bring the account balance to zero
  • Members must actively trade and take part in the organisation
  • Members have a right to expect confidentiality concerning their private details
  • Barter dollars can be transferred from one Members account to that of another Member only on the authority of the Member making payment
  • Members are responsible for paying Membership fees when due and cannot expect transaction slips to be honoured if not submitted promptly or Membership has lapsed
  • Members can expect administrative support and records to be kept of personal details and listings by those appointed by the Committee and for these to be considered confidential.
LETS South Committee
  • Has neither obligation nor liability to Work Cover authorities
  • Pays Public Liability Insurance on behalf of the Members
  • Has neither obligation nor liability to report to Taxation authorities or to collect taxes on Members behalf. Members are responsible for declaring and paying their own taxation liability.
  • Does not guarantee the value, condition or quantity of the items traded or services rendered by Members. All transactions are the sole responsibility of Members and no liability of Members of any nature shall transfer to the Committee in respect of any transaction. The only liability of the LETS South Committee to any Member for any damage suffered by such a Member shall be limited to damage caused by wilful default of the LETS South Committee.
  • May cancel Membership where there is misuse of the LETS South system and/or where activities are not consistent with the Ethics, Values and Principles of LETS South. Members have the right to redress should this happen.
  • May act on behalf of Members seeking redress from a Member whose account is heavily out of balance. Accounts should not be in deficit by more than $B300 unless special agreement has been sought from the Committee and arrangements made to clear the deficit.
  • Shall provide Administrative support to members and keep records of personal details and listings which are confidential.
  • Will assist members to trade and to resolve any conflict between members.
