Role & Responsibilities

LETS Market Co-ordinator

Some tasks may be delegated and help is sought from members on the day, however the overall organising and staging of Lets markets is the responsibility of the co-ordinator. The Market Co-ordinator is responsible for the following duties.

Prior to each market -

Ø      Find and book suitable venue.

Ø      Organise payment of venue hire.

Ø      Contact all stall-holders (casual & regular) by email or phone to check if they are having a stall at the forthcoming market.

Ø      Keep a list of stall holders.

Ø      Write for the LETS newsletter.

Ø      Publicise markets in the local community.

Ø      Encourage members to participate as sellers and buyers.

Ø      Respond to enquiries from potential stall-holders.

On the day of the market-

Ø      Collect keys on the day and pay key deposit.

Ø      Unlock and set-up the tables ready for the arrival of stall holders one hour before scheduled starting time.

Ø      Put signs out at opening time and place on main road if possible (attracting non-members to the market is a good way to spread the word about LETS).

Ø      Ensure that stall-holders have LETS brochures available to give to visitors.

Ø      Make provision for a LETS information stall at each market.

Ø      Welcome stall-holders and help them to select their spot.

Ø      Ensure that new stall-holders are introduced and know how the market works.

Ø      Give each stall-holder a sales record sheet.

Ø      Be on hand to deal with any problems that arise during the market.

Ø      Collect sales sheets from stall holders and pass on to transaction person for recording.

Ø      Ensure hall is cleaned and packed up, everything turned off and locked.

Ø      Return key.
