Role Description

 Some tasks may be delegated and help is sought from members on the day, however the overall organising and staging of Lets markets is the responsibility of the co-ordinator. The Market Coordinator is responsible for the following duties. 


Prior to each market -

  • Find and book suitable venue.
  • Organise payment of venue hire.
  • Contact all stall-holders (casual & regular) by email or phone to check if they are having a stall at the forthcoming market.
  •      Keep a list of stall holders.
  •       Write for the LETS newsletter.
  •       Publicise markets in the local community.
  •       Encourage members to participate as sellers and buyers.
  •       Respond to inquiries from potential stall-holders.

 

On the day of the market-

  •       Collect keys on the day and pay key deposit.
  •       Unlock and set-up the tables ready for the arrival of stall holders one hour before scheduled starting time.
  •      Put signs out at opening time and place on main road if possible (attracting non-members to the market is a good way to spread the word about LETS).
  •       Ensure that stall-holders have LETS brochures available to give to visitors.
  •       Make provision for a LETS information stall at each market.
  •       Welcome stall-holders and help them to select their spot.
  •       Ensure that new stall-holders are introduced and know how the market works.
  •       Give each stall-holder a sales record sheet.
  •       Be on hand to deal with any problems that arise during the market.
  •       Collect sales sheets from stall holders and pass on to transaction person for recording.
  •       Ensure hall is cleaned and packed up, everything turned off and locked.
